Role as an Intermediary
Committed to innovation,
Tradition is driven by product and technology enhancement designed to meet clients’ needs and
the new regulatory landscape.
Since the 2008 financial crisis, the role as a broker has evolved in line with the rapidly changing marketplace. The Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act (Dodd-Frank Act) set a new precedent in financial regulation that aims to establish the core ideals of market transparency and greater regulatory oversight.
As a major innovator and leader in the changing world of financial brokerage, Tradition provides the highest level of service to its clients by adhering to the fundamental principles of transparency, expertise, and competence.
Swaps and Futures Broker (IB)
Tradition Americas’ three NFA (National Futures Association) Member Introducing Broker (IB) firms (Tradition Securities and Derivatives, Inc., TFS-ICAP LLC and TFS Energy Futures LLC) offer swaps and futures execution across all asset classes. This includes interest rate swaps, broad-market equity index swaps, and FX products, such as non-deliverable forwards and physically-settled FX options. Tradition IBs deal solely with banks, market-makers and institutional clients, and solicit and accept orders to purchase or sell swaps, futures contracts, options and futures. Tradition IBs are Broker Firm Participants on Tradition SEF, Inc.
Tradition’s established position in the broker-dealer market is via FINRA-registered Tradition Securities and Derivatives, Inc., which offers securities, securities derivatives, and swaps arrangement and execution transactions across the equity, credit and fixed-income markets. Tradition brokers provide liquidity through highly-efficient, relationship-based interaction that meets the increasingly complex needs of our institutional, bank and dealer clients.
Swap Execution Facility (SEF)
TraditionSEF, Inc. is a registered Swap Execution Facility (SEF) under the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act (Dodd-Frank Act) and the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) rules. TraditionSEF enables participants to execute and trade swaps across all asset classes: rates, credit, FX, equities and commodities.
TraditionSEF is committed to innovation in derivatives markets trading and to providing access to liquidity pools that give our participants the most efficient execution experience in the constantly evolving regulatory landscape and market structure.
